Privacy notice

This notice is for the public VOLS website. VOLS is the Visuele Ontwikkeling en Leersentrum, the Visual Development and Learning Centre, founded and led by Elsa du Plessis.

The legal name, registration number, country of establishment, physical address, and the name of the person responsible for privacy are still to be added. [TBC]

The programme is also offered in London. South African privacy law (POPIA) and UK GDPR may both matter. A lawyer should confirm which applies, and how. [TBC]

These pages are public information. There are no accounts, no children’s records, and no parent or child login. The “Kids’ login” and “Parent portal” links explain that those areas are not open.

The form does not send your message to a server. If an email address has been published, the form opens your own email application with the message filled in. Until you send that email, the message stays on your device.

If no address has been published, the form lets you copy the message. It is not stored here.

Please do not include a child’s name, date of birth, school, or assessment in a message.

When a checkout link is published, the Buy button leaves this website for Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy processes the payment under its own privacy notice. VOLS does not see your card number. The Lemon Squeezy privacy link will be added with the shop. [TBC]

This website does not set cookies. It does not use a cookie to remember you, and it does not use tracking cookies. Your language is part of the address (/en or /af), not a saved preference.

There is no cookie banner, because there is no cookie to consent to.

If you continue to a payment or bookseller page, that other site may set its own cookies. That is outside this website.

No analytics service is loaded. A privacy-friendly service can be switched on later by the site owner. It is off unless it is configured, and it is off by default.

Do not send a child’s personal information through this website. The desktop programme, if a practitioner uses it, stores children’s information on the computer where it is installed. That storage is not part of this website, and a separate notice for the programme should be confirmed before the software is sold. [TBC]
