VOLS

Visuele Ontwikkeling en Leersentrum

We teach children what to learn. But do we understand how they learn to see, perceive and think?

VOLS is the Visual Development and Learning Centre. It was founded, and is led, by Elsa du Plessis. Her visual-perceptual development programme has run since 1988. More than 5,000 children have completed it. The programme is also offered in London.

Beyond seeing — discover the power of perception.

The progression

The underlying theme of the work.

  1. 01SightWhat the eyes take in.
  2. 02PerceptionHow the mind organises what is seen.
  3. 03CognitionHow perception becomes thinking.
  4. 04IntelligenceHow that thinking serves learning.
